A nurse called Lollo looked after me. I told her I’d heard somebody talking about needles, and that I really didn’t want any needles put in me! Definitely not, no way, not ever! 😠 But Lollo realised I was scared and really helped me. “They won’t be leaving a needle in you!” she said. She told me it was just a tiny, tiny, soft plastic tube that would be placed in my blood vessel so that they could give me pain relief and anaesthetic without having to stick more needles in me. I told her it was stupid to say they’d be inserting a needle, and she agreed with me! 😏 “Hang on a minute, I’ll show you,” she said.
